In today's world, technology is growing very fast, and we are getting in touch with different new technologies day by day.

Here, one of the booming technologies of computer science is Artificial Intelligence which is ready to create a new revolution in the world by making intelligent machines. Artificial Intelligence is now all around us. It is currently working with a variety of subfields, ranging from general to specific, such as self-driving cars, playing chess, proving theorems, playing music, painting, etc.


Artificial intelligence (AI) is a wide-ranging branch of computer science concerned with building smart machines capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence.

The term Artificial Intelligence was first coined decades ago in the year 1956 by John McCarthy. He defined AI as the science and engineering of making intelligent machines. AI is a technique of getting machines to work and behave like humans. In the recent past, Artificial Intelligence has been able to accomplish this by creating machines and robots that are being used in a wide range of fields including healthcare, robotics marketing, business analytics, and many more.


However many Artificial Intelligence applications are not perceived as Artificial Intelligence because we often tend to think of Artificial Intelligence as robots doing our daily course but the truth is Artificial Intelligence has found its way into our daily lives, it has become so general that we don't realize we use it all the time. For instance, Have you ever wondered how Google can give you such accurate search results? or how your Instagram feed always gives you content based on your interest? The answer to these questions is ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE(AI).


People often tend to think that Artificial Intelligence(AI), Machine learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL) are the same since they have common applications. For example, Siri is an application of AI, ML, and DL. So How are these technologies varied?

Artificial Intelligence is the science of getting machines to mimic the behavior of humans. Machine learning is a subset of AI that focuses on getting machines to make the right decisions by feeding them data. On the other hand, Deep learning is a subset of ML that uses the concept of Neural networks to solve complex problems. To sum it up, Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, and Deep learning are interconnected fields. 


Artificial Intelligence can be structured along three evolutionary stages or we can also say that there are three types of AI.

1.Artificial Narrow Intelligence

2.Artificial General Intelligence

3.Artificial Super Intelligence


1.Artificial Narrow Intelligence

Narrow AI is AI that is programmed to perform a single task — whether it's checking the weather, being able to play chess, or analyzing raw data to write journalistic reports. ANI systems can attend to a task in real-time, but they pull information from a specific data set.

Google Assistant, Google Translate, Siri and other natural language processing tools are examples of Narrow AI.


2.Artificial General Intelligence

An Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) would be a machine capable of understanding the world as well as any human, and with the same capacity to learn how to carry out a huge range of tasks. 

AGI systems can think, comprehend, learn and apply their intelligence to solve problems much like humans would for a given situation. The anthropomorphic capabilities that convert artificial intelligence into artificial general intelligence include: Sensory perception.



3.Artificial Super Intelligence

Artificial superintelligence (ASI) is a software-based system with intellectual powers beyond those of humans across an almost comprehensive range of categories and fields of endeavor.AI is increasingly a part of our everyday environment in systems including virtual assistants, expert systems, and self-driving cars.


ASI would theoretically be exceedingly better at everything we do; math, science, sports, art, medicine, hobbies, emotional relationships, everything. ASI would have a greater memory and a faster ability to process and analyse data and stimuli. Consequently, the decision-making and problem solving capabilities of super intelligent beings would be far superior than those of human beings.


Application of Artificial Intelligence.

Artificial Intelligence has various applications in today's society.AI is making our daily life more comfortable and fast.

Following are some sectors that have the application of Artificial Intelligence:

1.Astronomy

2.Health care

3.Gaming

4.Data Security

5.Finance

6.Data Security

7.Social Media

8.Travel and transport

9.Robotics

10. Agriculture 

11. E-Commerce

12. Education

There is no doubt in saying that Artificial intelligence is an essential part of the development and growth of humans. A thin line or mistake leads to disruption or destruction. Everything in excess is dangerous and so is the case with Artificial Intelligence.


Pros and Cons of Artificial Intelligence :

PROS:

  • AI drives down the time taken to perform a task. It enables multi-tasking and eases the workload for existing resources.

  • AI enables the execution of hitherto complex tasks without significant cost outlays.

  • AI operates 24x7 without interruption or breaks and has no downtime

  • AI augments the capabilities of differently-abled individuals

  • AI has mass-market potential, it can be deployed across industries.

  • AI facilitates decision-making by making the process faster and smarter.


CONS:

  1.  The implementation cost of AI is very high.

  2.  A robot is one of the implementations of Artificial intelligence with them replacing jobs and leading to unemployment.

  3. The difficulties with software development for AI implementation are that the development of software is slow and expensive. Few efficient programmers are available to develop software to implement artificial intelligence.

  4. Machines can easily lead to destruction if the implementation of machines is put in the wrong hands the results are hazardous for human beings.

CONCLUSION:

It can be concluded that like any other invention AI also comes with its own set of problems. However, it won’t be too optimistic to believe that all these problems will probably be fixed with time, including the issue of unemployment which can be solved with human upskilling.
